Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services is committed to creating an organizational culture that celebrates and values diversity of all kinds among our staff, our Board, our vendors, our volunteers and our clients.
Diversity Policy
Our ability to achieve our mission and to foster a commitment to excellence can best be pursued if our employees, clients, volunteers and governing body include individuals of diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and perspectives.
Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES) believes that diversity encompasses, but is not limited to, age, gender, race, national origin, religious beliefs, physical and mental abilities and characteristics, sexual orientation, economic circumstances and lifestyle. Thus, SCES is committed to fostering a supportive work environment which respects and appreciates diversity in its many forms and provides all staff members with opportunities to maximize the use of their work related skills and talents. SCES seeks to serve a client population that reflects, as a group, the diversity of the Somerville and Cambridge communities. We will also seek service providers that share in our commitment to diversity and who can help ensure that we reach most populations with our programs and services.
