A Matter of Balance Coach

Description: By volunteering to teach two classes per year, you will help participants develop individual strategies to prevent falls, become more confident about managing falls, teach strengthening/flexibility exercises for balance, and assess their environment for risk factors. All materials and training provided by Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services.

Skills: Willingness to lead a small group of older adults. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to perform range of motion and low-level endurance exercises. Education or health care experience a plus.

You could be eligible to receive a stipend to cover transportation costs.
